When dealing with love chances are you will at some point deal with a relationship coming to an end. Ending a relationship is painful. As mature adults, we try to keep it simple, friendly, say good bye, I love you and will miss you and walk away. However, we are not always that lucky. It takes mature people for a break up to stay under control and usually, someone in the relationship is not so understanding.
Let me first say that if a person says "It's over, I no longer want to spend my time with you", they mean exactly that... "I NO LONGER WANT TO SPEND MY TIME WITH YOU". It does not mean, that if you cry and beg and buy flowers and stalk the other person that they will change their mind.
Let's also acknowledge that many hours of thought go into making the decision to end a relationship. Most likely the other person tried telling you several times that there were issues and concerns. You probably weren't listening. The fact that you were not listening, shows that you are more into yourself than your partner's thoughts and needs. So this break up is what's best for both of you.
Take this time to reflect on what you want from your next relationship. This way you will not repeat the same mistakes. DO NOT instead decide that you are not ready to give up on the current break up, and continue to call the other person and show up at their home as if nothing is wrong! Remember that this person let you go. They no longer deserve your attention. Maybe they will regret it... who knows. Meantime, walk away and figure out what's best for you.
Perhaps you are destined to find someone else. Someone that will understand you and will be patient with you. I do believe that there is someone for everyone, so let love run its course. This is why I advise to love passionately and honestly now. Love as much as you can in this moment, because tomorrow your love may be gone.
Love is funny like that. It tries to teach us lessons. We as lovers need to be willing to learn from these experiences and challenges. Never forget that as hard as loving may seem, it's worth it... because as they say, it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
Happy dating and thanks for following Marisa's Misadventures*
